Gridiron members turned out in force on Friday, June 13th for the annual Dinuba Car Show Concert featuring Morris Day and the Time in the Claude Hebert Stadium at Dinuba High School. Serving their deep pit barbeque sandwiches with grilled onions and peppers along with Polish dogs, the club kept fans fed during the two hour concert. Martin Tovar, athletic director at Dinuba High says he was "very pleased with the turnout of members for this off-season fund raiser".
Mike McLaughlin and Andy Lopez hooked up the clubs new commercial barbeque unit and gave it a test drive with several cases of Polish Sausages as well as a stir fry offering of grilled onions and sweet peppers for the barbeque beef sandwiches. Maribel Reynosa, club president, headed a large crew serving up roaster ovens full of deep pit barbeque prepared the night before. Dena Rios and Belinda Vasquez were also on hand with a store full of Emperor wear for fans and parents to purchase. The evening was declared a success as the newest members and officers feel well prepared to begin another season of Emperor Football.
Stay tuned for an updated schedule of Gridiron Club meetings and events. Gridiron's next meeting will be Tuesday, July 8th at 6:30pm in the Dinuba High Library. Parents as well as avid Emperor fans are all invited to become members of the Gridiron Club at this meeting.
